Ursa Bezan Petric


Ursa is from Kranj, Slovenia where she was the Slovenian record holder many times in different age groups in the 100, 200, and 400 freestyle. She swam on the Slovenian team in the 2012 London Olympic Games helping her team place 12th in the 4x200 freestyle relay. Ursa competed in the 2012 European Championships and the 2011 World Championships in freestyle. She arrived in Dallas in 2013 to swim for the SMU Mustangs where she placed in the top three in the AAC, was a NCAA qualifier and team caption her senior year. She graduated from SMU with a BS in Applied Physiology and Health Mgmt and a minor in Chemistry. She has coached for two years for the SMU Dedman Center and plans to apply to medical school. Ursa started coaching for DAM in 2019.
